Gigs
24th Sep 2011 - Gutterslut
East Bloc, 217 City Road, London, EC1V 1JN

I’ve been lucky enough to play the excellent Gutterslut party twice in the past, both gigs some of the absolute favourites in my DJ career! No other party in London has a more diverse and welcoming environment with gays, straights, trannies, club kids and fashionistas all getting down and rocking there asses of at the most hedonistic party in Town. Not to be miised, I genuinely love it! Here’s some more info and history from the founders; The Dalston Gay Mafia!
Launched back in 2007, GutterSlut has since proved itself as the most notoriously-wild, insanely-fun and hotly anticipated club night in London - enthusiastically hailed by magazines including Time Out, i-D, DJ Mag and Mixmag as the natural successor to some of the Capitals’s most iconic clubs from the past, such as Blitz and Taboo.
The monthly GutterSlut parties always draw in a dressed-up and up-for-it crowd of good times-loving boys, girls (straight and gay), trannies, club kids and older nightlife faces, whom collectively let rip amid the most dynamic sets played by the hottest international DJs around: Larry T, Tom Stephan, Severino, Deep Groove, Princess Julia, not to mention resident spinners and GuttlerSlut founders Per Qx, Nic Fisher, Ralf Obergfell and Elliott J Brown (who moved on to other projects in 2010), as well as the inimitable MC Miss Crystal, have consistently offered a cutting edge mix of eclectic, energetic House and Techno and general dancefloor mayhem.
Like all the best club nights, GutterSlut began on a small scale, when its aforementioned founders and friends realized, back in 2007, that there was no decent Saturday night event in East London and found the mainstream gay scene to be tired and formulaic. Naming themselves the Dalston Gay Mafia, they applied this tongue in cheek moniker to decadent after-hours parties – which were the catalyst for GutterSlut - hosted in their Glebe Road abode (situated down a seedy Dalston alley, frequented by local crack addicts). Roping in one of the regular attendees - performance artist and alternative cabaret star, Jonny Woo - to become the club’s very own muse, the Gutterslut story duly began.
Since celebrating its own first birthday, in 2008, GutterSlut has regularly hooked-up with and hosted rooms at various esteemed London-based venues and bashes, including Matter, Fabric, Trailer Trash, Wet Yourself, Egg, and the infamous afterhours party, Trade, as well as the Glastonbury Festival in Block 9.
With other European bookings and tours now being confirmed and planned, the 21st century legend that is GutterSlut goes from strength to strength as it sluttily struts around the globe!
Dunno about you but I’m sold
